Firefighter Morgan has worked hard to build a home for himself after a nomadic childhood. When Morgan is called to a fire, he finds the family out front, but their tenant still inside. He rescues Richard Smalley, who turns out to be an old friend he hasn’t seen in years and the one person he regretted leaving behind.

Richard has had a hard life. He served in the military, where he lost the use of his legs, and has been struggling to make his way since coming home. Now that he no longer has a place to live, Morgan takes him in, but when someone attempts to set fire to Morgan’s house, they both become suspicious and wonder what’s going on.

Years ago Morgan was gutted when he moved away, leaving Richard behind, so he’s happy to pick things up where they left off. But now that Richard seems to be the target of an arsonist, he may not be the safest person to be around.

Another great Andrew great story. One of the great things Andrew Gray does is take broken challenge characters and make them desirable. In our image obsessed perfectionist culture persons with disabilities are not thought to be hot, sexual beings. Andrew bursts that notion. Two hot guys, one a strapping hunk of fireman, the other a cripple, veteran with severe emotional trauma combust on the pages with blazing sexual heat. As a disabled man my I appreciate Andrew's depiction of disabled, disfigured, so-called damaged men as mc's. Thanks also for pouring light on the lives of veterans and the challenges so many face after active duty. Great story, great characters, a must read, must have book. Kudos!

Well Andrew Grey has done it again. Another awesome novel that keeps the reader captivated till the end. I have been a fan of Mr Grey's writing for years and have never been disappointed with any of his work. The reader is easily transported into the story line making you feel like you're living the story along with the characters. A word of warning though. Only commence reading this book when you have no pressing obligations for hours. You will be so drawn into this book it will be impossible to put down. Thank Mr. Grey for another fantastic novel and the hours of pure pleasure you give to your readers
This was such a heart felt and loving story I really enjoyed it. Morgan and Richard's story had my complete attention from the first page to the last. Old childhood friends reuniting under crazy circumstance's dealing with a serial arsonist hell bent on revenge, facing one's past and demons with feelings of guilt and scars from a of past of fighting in the war and losing his friends as well as the use of his legs leave Richard angry, and bitter with a whole bunch of insecurities. And in comes Morgan his childhood friend, firefighter and saviour who rescues him from a house fire takes him in without question and helps him face his past get a handle on his PTSD and learn to open his heart all while trying to find out who wants Richard dead. This was a very good story that I hated to see end.
Morgan is a firefighter who is called to a "hot" fire and ends up pulling a wheelchair bound unconscious man out just as the house goes up. Richie is an ex-Marine who was injured overseas leaving him wheelchair bound. The next day Morgan goes to the hospital to check on the man he rescued and to his amazement and delight finds out it's his best friend from childhood. Morgan takes Richie home with him and starts helping Richie put his life back together. During this time they find out that the fire was intentionally set and other fires start happening around town, all involving military families. Morgan and Richie are trying to maneuver around each other and their growing feelings for each other all the while trying to come up with a suspect who would want to hurt Richie. This being extra hard since most of Richie's time overseas is classified. They finally figure out what's going on and who's responsible. Good story telling with a little mystery and romance thrown in. Worth the read.
If you are looking for a semi-angst filled MM romance that takes a completely unique couple of men and thrusts them into a relatively routine day-to-day existence only to deliver a wham!, bang! no-thank-you-ma'am! set of plot interventions, then you know Andrew Grey will deliver.

Here he is again, back among his firemen and cops in Harrisburg, PA. The book opens with a horrifying fire and an exceptionally unlikely rescue operation that has fireman Morgan rescuing wheelchair-bound ex-Marine Richard only to discover after 20 years apart that they knew each other when...and how much they cherish a friendship that was ripped apart when Morgan was forced to move away when they were 13-year-olds.

Grey gets right to the point here, and then spends the rest of the book trying to get Richard back into the real world, not the one he left behind in Iraq. This is a familiar theme in many contemporary MM romances, but Grey is a master at developing, expositing and solving deeply buried fears and insecurities. And he brings in one of the sweetest romantic twists of the year--one that involves a rusty nail (not the drink!) You might shed a tear at that point it's so heartwarming.

He brings in other characters from previous books in the series to help both Morgan and Richard deal with their insecurities as well as the threat to their lives that emerges as the action-plot device.

I will be frank here and let you know that as soon as one of his books appears on my , I start it to get a taste--and like virtually every other one, I did not stop until I finished. You probably won't, either, and we can compare grins afterwards.
Another great work by Andrew Grey. He never disappoints. The story line was strong and the characters were well developed. Morgan is a firefighter who at times stretches the rules to get people out of harm's way. One night he responds to a house fire and finds a man in a wheelchair that has been overcome by smoke. The next day, Morgan goes to the hospital to see how this man is and finds out he is someone who he grew up with, best friends. Richard has been in the military and lost the ability to move his legs and the circumstances that surround it haunts him in nightmares and life. Morgan can't believe he has found Richard and decides that Richard can live with him until he finds another place to live. Richard has PTSD, and Morgan is right there for him through the nightmares and the attempt of an arsonist to get back at Richard. Richard feels he is only half a man and thinks he is imposing on Morgan. Morgan is determined to show him that is not the case. At 13 years old they were pretended to get married and Morgan kept the wire ring all this time. Morgan knows they are soulmates regardless of Richard pushing him away. Between Richard being haunted by his past, his physical incapacity, his self image, and someone trying to destroy him, the story has a lot of twists and turns. A great HEA. Highly recommend this one. Brilliantly written.
